I think the game ended up besting baldurs gate 1 but not reaching the awesomeness of bg2 (i think the sequel gets much closer). Pillars is Obsidians attempt at capturing the magic of Baldurs Gate. But like all turned based combat it can drag on some times. I love me some turned based combat and divinitys turned base combat is one of the best.
